Contact HamStart
How to reach us
We keep contact simple: email only. There is no web form to fill out, no account to create, and no newsletter signup required. Just send us a message at the address shown below and it will land in our inbox.
Clear, specific messages get the best answers. If you're reporting an error, tell us which page and what looks wrong. If you're asking about gear or the exam, include enough detail (your band, your radio, your location type) for us to give a useful reply.
What we can and can't help with
We're glad to help with:
- Corrections and factual errors in our guides, tools, or calculators.
- Questions about how to use a tool on the site.
- Suggestions for new guides, comparisons, or calculators.
- General "where do I start" pointers for new hams.
We can't help with:
- Personalized legal, licensing, or FCC-compliance advice — contact the FCC or a Volunteer Examiner group for that.
- Repairing or troubleshooting your specific radio hardware.
- Emergencies. If you have an emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number.
Response expectations
HamStart is run by a small team, so replies are not instant. We aim to answer within a few business days, and we prioritize corrections that could mislead other readers. If you email about a factual mistake, you may see the page updated before you get a personal reply — fixing it for everyone comes first.
We read every message, but we can't promise a response to every one, especially product-request or general-chat email. Thanks for helping us keep the site accurate.
